What a marketing agency actually does
A marketing agency decides who the work is for, makes the brand and the pages clear, and runs the channels that bring those people in. The useful ones also show you what was published, what was spent, and what happened.
The work, not the job title
Agencies use different words for the same jobs. Under the labels, the work is usually this:
- Positioning. Who it is for, why you, and what the next step is.
- Creative. The look, the words, and the ads or posts people actually see.
- The website. A page a stranger can understand, and a crawler can read.
- Search. Pages that answer the questions buyers type, so Google can rank them and AI answers can cite them.
- Paid media. Ads on Meta, Google, or elsewhere, aimed at the same offer as the site.
- Reporting. A record of what ran and what it produced, not a slide of vanity numbers.
An agency that only posts, or only buys ads, is doing a slice of this. That can be enough. It is a problem when the slice contradicts the rest of the brand.
What you should be able to see
You should know who is doing the work, what is going out this month, and which page or campaign it points to. You should be able to pause spend. You should be able to read the page yourself and recognize your business.
If the only deliverable is a deck of recommendations, that is a consultant. If the work ships — pages, creative, campaigns — that is an agency. Carazo Creative does the second. Strategy does not stop at the recommendation.
Where AI fits
Buyers now ask ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, and Perplexity the same questions they used to type into Google. An agency that ignores that will keep optimizing for a click that never happens. The practical version is not a trick. It is publishing clear answers, keeping the business name consistent, and checking whether those answers name you.
CORA is the platform Carazo uses to see whether search and AI answers name a brand, which pages are doing the work, and what to fix next. A person still reviews the output.
Questions people ask
What does a marketing agency do?
A marketing agency decides who the work is for, makes the brand and the pages clear, and runs the channels that bring those people in. The useful ones also show you what was published, what was spent, and what happened.
Does a marketing agency replace my team?
No. The agency does the marketing system. You still own the offer, the product, and the relationship with the customer. The best setups have one person on your side who can approve work quickly.
Is SEO part of what an agency does?
It should be, if people search for what you sell. SEO is the work of making pages that answer those searches and can be read by Google. Paid ads can run beside that. They do not replace a page that explains the offer.
How is Carazo Creative different?
Carazo Creative treats brand, creative, and growth as one system, and uses CORA, its own platform, to see whether search and AI answers name the brand. A strategist reviews the work before it ships.
